Snowstorm affects Monday court schedules in Virginia

Lingering snow is affecting court schedules throughout Virginia for Monday, Jan. 25.

The administrative offices of the Supreme Court of Virginia are closed Monday.

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals offices will open at noon Monday. Oral arguments are expected to take place as scheduled Tuesday through Thursday, but the court will accept electronic filing of motions to continue or motions to submit on briefs.

The Richmond U.S. District Court clerk’s office will be closed Monday. The Alexandria U.S. District Courthouse will be closed Monday, according to the Eastern District website.

The Richmond and Alexandria divisions of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court are closed Monday, according to the court’s website.

Federal courthouses in the Western District of Virginia are opening at various times, as noted on the court’s website.
