The plaintiff was driving on a secondary road in Franklin County when the defendant crossed over the center line and came into the plaintiff’s lane and struck him head-on. The plaintiff suffered exten­sive injuries, requiring surger­ies and months of hospitaliza­tion and rehabilitation. The defendant had auto insurance in the amount of $250,000 and an umbrella pol­icy of $1,000,000. The insurance company offered their limits and the defendant paid $60,000 out of pocket.
