Norfolk firm wins food drive competition

Norfolk law firm Vandeventer Black LLC raised over $12,000 and 65,000 pounds of food to capture the top spot in the 11th annual Legal Food Frenzy competition.

The event raises food and money to support needy families and individuals in Hampton Roads. The competition groups various law firms, law schools and government institutions together in a friendly competition.

“Vandeventer Black has been part of this initiative since its inception 11 years ago. We are proud we were able to surpass last year’s contribution and the goal we set for this year of raising $10,000 and more than 500 pounds of food,” said the firm’s managing partner Michael L. Sterling.

The firm will receive the Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab Award at the competition’s award ceremony.
