4th Circuit e-filing to be down Friday

An upgrade to the federal court e-filing system will take e-filing operations for the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals off line from Thursday evening through the weekend, according to a court announcement.

CM/ECF filing for the 4th Circuit will be unavailable from 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, until 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13., for conversion to “Next Gen CM/ECF.”  Additionally, users will be unable to access Fourth Circuit PACER to view case dockets and documents during this outage, the court said.

Any filing deadlines that fall during the outage are extended to Nov. 13, the announcement said.

If you have an emergency filing during the outage, please contact Pat Connor at Pat_Connor@ca4.uscourts.gov.

The court said it will post a notice Nov. 13 when Next Gen CM/ECF is operational. For information on Next Gen CM/ECF account requirements, see Upgrade a PACER Account.

Instructions for filing in Next Gen CM/ECF will be posted on the court’s website on Nov. 13.
