A Winchester lawyer has been charged with misdemeanor sexual battery in connection with a July 21 incident with a client.
Howard J. Manheimer, 48, is accused of the unwanted touching of a 24-year-old woman at a school basketball court, The Winchester Star reported. He has a court date on Sept. 10, according to online court records.
A prosecutor from Prince William County will handle the case, the paper reported.
Manheimer has no public discipline record with the Virginia State Bar. He ran for Winchester commonwealth’s attorney in 2015, but dropped out of the race and supported eventual winner Marc Abrams.
Manheimer did not respond to calls for comment, the paper reported.
