The board of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys named Walter H. Peake III of Roanoke, posthumously, as this year’s recipient of the VADA’s Award for Excellence in Civil Litigation.
Peake died in April at age 60.
“A longtime friend and member of our organization, Walt was a masterful trial lawyer who specialized in the defense of medical professionals,” the VADA said on Facebook. “He was known for his keen intellect, skillful advocacy, and unyielding concern for and devotion to his clients, as well as for his adherence to the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.”
The VADA presented the award to Peake’s family on Oct. 3 at the group’s annual meeting in Norfolk.
