More virus updates for lawyers

The Western District U.S. Bankruptcy Court has suspended its prohibition on pro se litigants filing pleadings or other papers electronically. In a March 25 order posted on the court’s website, the court cited the need to reduce personal contact.

Similarly, on March 26, the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission waived the rule requiring that a claimant’s affidavit for a compromise settlement be notarized.

The Virginia Bar Association continues to hold conference calls for the exchange of information and tips about law practice during the pandemic with a session scheduled March 27.
