60-year-old pedestrian struck by SUV while crossing street in Fairfax — $310,825 settlement

On Dec. 2, 2019, the decedent, Abraham Feldman, a 60-year-old male, was crossing a street near the intersection of Old Courthouse Road and Gallows Road in Fairfax County. Feldman was crossing the street within the crosswalk when he was struck by an SUV being driven by Joseph Halligan. Both Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and Halligan attempted to render aid to Feldman, who was severely injured. Feldman was transported to Fairfax INOVA hospital. After two days at INOVA Fairfax, Feldman died. Halligan was charged with “Failure to Yield to Pedestrian.” Halligan was insured with a policy through GEICO with policy limits of $300k. Amount of final settlement: $310,825.47.
