Description of case: The plaintiff was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by a friend. The defendant was alleged to have been driving inappropriately in light of the weather (snow and sleet) conditions at the time. The vehicle slid off the roadway and into a jersey wall, causing primarily soft tissue injuries to the plaintiff. She was, however, pregnant and suffered a miscarriage soon thereafter. Although the plaintiff was unable to present expert testimony directly linking the miscarriage to the accident, the medical record documented her fears that her baby would be harmed as a result of the accident.
