Description of case: Plaintiff slipped and fell at a local restaurant of a national chain in the lobby area, injuring her foot. Plaintiff had surgery on both feet a month earlier when she claimed a wet area of the lobby caused her to slip and fall. Liability was contested and after mediation did not resolve the case, it settled months later for $275,000. Plaintiff’s medicals were also contested as she had multiple subsequent surgeries following the fall, some related and others disputed by experts on both sides.
