Education:

JD, University of Virginia
BA, Virginia Tech

Signature case / representation:

One of my most memorable and professionally satisfying cases involved obtaining a defense verdict in a case involving the death of an 18-month-old on behalf of a physician who was left without coverage when his insurance company went bankrupt.

Satisfying aspect of practice:

Hearing the judge or courtroom clerk read the following words: “We, the jury, on the issues joined, find in favor of the defendant.”

Advice:

Taking the plunge five years ago and starting my own firm with three great partners.

Outlook:

I expect the expanded jurisdiction of the Court of Appeals will have a significant impact on both the trial and settlement of medical malpractice cases.
