The 83rd Annual Meeting of the VSB returns in-person for 2022.
In keeping with a decades-long tradition, the Virginia State Bar meets in Virginia Beach in June to wrap up bar business, induct new officers and hold CLEs. It offers a great opportunity to see old friends, make new ones and enjoy the company of other practitioners.
For those who couldn’t make it, the VSB has you covered. You can watch the Annual Meeting CLEs at your leisure as they will be available online after the meeting until Oct. 31.
Last year’s annual meeting also was a hybrid event. Business meetings and the awards ceremony were live and in person at the beach, by invitation only. Continuing Legal Education sessions were hosted virtually.
And who could forget 2020. The VSB Annual Meeting’s was a casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic and was canceled. The cancellation marked the first time since 1945 — during World War II – that the VSB had to abandon its annual gathering.
Since 1998, Virginia Lawyers Weekly has published a special edition for the VSB Annual Meeting, the biggest meeting for lawyers in the commonwealth each year.
To celebrate the return of an in-person Annual Meeting, we are sharing:
- Interviews with the outgoing and incoming bar leaders
- Awards given by sections and conferences
- Bar group honors
You’ll find the special as the second section of this edition.
So welcome back to the beach. We hope you enjoy everything from first-night festivities, to engaging and informative CLEs, to just having fun reconnecting with and making new friends.
