Ramesh Murthy
Shareholder, PennStuart
Abingdon
When Ramesh Murthy first began his practice at PennStuart, he provided counsel to a variety of employers and human resources managers in workers’ compensation matters. As workers’ comp and employment law began to collide, he developed his niche into a firmwide employment law practice, which today includes litigation in addition to his comprehensive counseling services.
He has practiced law for 32 years and currently serves as leader of PennStuart’s employment practice group. A native of Southwest Virginia, Murthy is active in his community, serving on the board of trustees of Barter Theatre and as chairman of the Sullins Academy board. He is also general counsel for the Virginia Self-Insurer’s Association.
A graduate of King College and the University of Richmond School of Law, Murthy is a frequent speaker on employment and workers’ compensation issues in Virginia and Tennessee, and has presented at numerous seminars along the East Coast.
