Description of case: The plaintiff, a woman in her early 40s, underwent a bilateral breast reduction for macromastia. Following the procedure, she developed severe complications, resulting in a three-week hospitalization, two revision surgeries and scarring and deformity around the surgical site.
The plaintiff claimed that the defendant surgeon caused these injuries by negligently performing her breast reduction. Prior to trial, Centra Medical Group was voluntarily dismissed and the case proceeded against the surgeon. After a five-day trial, the jury returned a verdict for the defense.
