State bar seeks volunteers for variety of vacancies

The Virginia State Bar is seeking volunteers to serve on VSB boards and committees for terms beginning on July 1, 2023.

The VSB Disciplinary Board is seeking to fill four lawyer vacancies and a lay member vacancy. Applicants are required to have prior district committee service and must include a writing sample responding to a hypothetical disciplinary system fact pattern with their application. Applications are due to VSB Nominating Committee Chair Jay B. Myerson by Nov. 21.

The bar is also seeking volunteers to serve on Medical Malpractice Review Panels. Three lawyer vacancies are available immediately on MMRPs, with 20 lawyer vacancies available July 1, 2023. Lawyers seeking to serve on MMRPs must be impartial, actively practicing and an in-good-standing member of the VSB. Interested lawyers can submit a letter of interest and resume to VSB Executive Director Cameron M. Rountree by Nov. 7.

Three lawyer vacancies are available on the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Board. Interested lawyers can submit a letter of interest and resume to Rountree by Nov. 7.
