Description of case: This case concluded with a confidential settlement; certain details are redacted.

The plaintiff was a passenger in a van which was rear-ended by a school bus. The plaintiff suffered from a mild traumatic brain injury, a large, extruded disc at C5-C6 with radiculopathy, left ankle derangement and a right shoulder rotator cuff tear. The plaintiff received surgery on his C-5-C6 disc extrusion and his rotator cuff. The plaintiff had previously been diagnosed with a minor rotator cuff tear but had elected to defer surgery. This incident exacerbated his rotator cuff tear and forced him to have surgery. He also had surgery for his left ankle injury nearly three years after the crash.
