A Winchester teen had just reached a sidewalk on his scooter when he was struck by an SUV. Police searched for the driver until he turned himself in, stating that he initially believed he had struck an animal. The defendant was charged and convicted of felony hit-and-run and reckless driving by plea agreement. The plaintiff had insurance of $50,000. Policy limit was demanded and received with the driver contributing an additional $6,000.
Plaintiff suffered a fractured pelvis as a result of the accident, but made a full recovery.
