NNA announces 2013 newspaper contest winners

The National Newspaper Association has announced the winners of the 2013 Better Newspaper Contest.
Virginia Lawyers Weekly earned an Honorable Mention in the Best Serious Column category for “Dare to be stupid,” a “Publisher’s Notebook” piece by Paul Fletcher. It was published last December.
There were 1,777 entries in the Better Newspaper Contest from papers across the country. VLW competed against other non-daily publications with more than 3,000 subscribers.
Four other Dolan Company newspapers – Arizona Capitol Times, Missouri Lawyers Weekly, The (Milwaukee) Daily Reporter and The St. Louis Countian – were honored by the NNA.
Winners will be recognized at the NNA’s annual convention in Phoenix in September.
