Virginia Lawyers Weekly is now accepting nominations for two of its lawyer award programs, “Leaders in the Law” and “Up & Coming Lawyers.”
The Leaders program, started in 2006, honors the lawyers across the commonwealth who are setting the example for other lawyers. Criteria for selection are broad, but they include:
- Outstanding service and contributions to the community
- Significant legal accomplishment or result
- Significant accomplishment improving law practice and/or
- Work to improving the justice system
A “Leader of the Year” will be selected by vote of the honorees in the Leaders Class of 2021.
The Up & Coming Lawyers program was started in 2016. It seeks to honor future leaders who, in their first 10 years of practice, have achieved some significant accomplishment or who already have been making important contributions to the legal system and/or their communities.
Currently, the program honoring the 2021 Leaders and Up-and-Comers is scheduled as a live event to be held at The John Marshall in downtown Richmond on Oct. 19.
