Description of case: The plaintiff was a passenger in a F-150 pickup truck T-Boned by a Dodge minivan after it ran a red light at a high rate of speed in Henrico. The impact was significant. The plaintiff immediately experienced bilateral breast pain from the seatbelt. The plaintiff experienced severe bruising of her breasts, which later developed into oil cysts and areas of fat necrosis. Plaintiff’s pain was still present more than three years after the crash. The defendant had auto insurance through Atlas Financial Holdings Inc., which filed for bankruptcy and later entered receivership. Plaintiff was forced to make a claim through the Virginia Property and Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association. The case eventually settled with plaintiff’s uninsured motorist insurance carriers, State Farm and GEICO, after plaintiff’s expert designations.
