Description of case: Plaintiff was operating his vehicle when struck by another vehicle. The impact was not severe, but plaintiff began experiencing headaches and other mild traumatic brain injury symptoms shortly after the accident. He experienced problems with his vision, became irritable and had trouble concentrating while working as a banker. His symptoms lasted almost two years and while he improved, he still had occasional headaches and fatigue. The defendant’s carrier paid its limits of $300,000 and plaintiff’s UIM carrier paid its limits of $200,000 for a total settlement of $500,000. There was no other available coverage.
