Only three circuits have elections for Virginia State Bar Council this year.

Lawyers are voting for bar leaders in Alexandria (the 18th circuit), the Roanoke Valley (the 23rd circuit) and in the Bristol area (the 28th circuit). Online voting continues through April 29 at midnight.

In Alexandria, the candidates are Alison R. Mullins, Todd A. Pilot and John K. Zwerling. In Roanoke, Daniel P. Frankl and Mark D. Loftis are running. The Bristol contest features John A. Martin and Bruce H. Russell II.

Biographies of the candidates are posted on the VSB website.

With 81 members, the Bar Council oversees the regulation of law practice in Virginia under the direction of the Supreme Court of Virginia.

Updated April 15 to correct the locality of the 18th circuit.
