Case description: The plaintiff was knocked to the ground and bitten by a dog on the dog owner’s property. The plaintiff alleged that the dog was “reactive” and dangerous, descriptions that were disputed by the defendant. Liability, both as to primary negligence and contributory negligence, was hotly disputed. The plaintiff sustained puncture wounds, lacerations and a left tibial plateau fracture. Ultimately, she underwent four surgeries to address the fracture, including an open reduction/internal fixation and a total knee replacement.
