2023 Unsung Legal Heroes
Virginia Lawyers Weekly//December 26, 2023//
Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s annual “Unsung Legal Heroes” awards honor law firm employees in a number of categories for their dedication, passion and hard work. We reached out to the Virginia legal community for nominations and the response was enthusiastic, as always.
Lawyers will be the first to acknowledge that they are only as good as the team behind them. The support staff at a law firm works largely behind the scenes; many support employees will stay at a law firm literally for decades. But they don’t always get the recognition they deserve.
Not surprisingly, when we informed the honorees that they were selected, many were appreciative, yet humble. Please join us in congratulating the “Unsung Legal Heroes” Class of 2023!

Tell us about your first job and what you learned from it.
District 19 Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services Board, an organization that dealt with people with mental and drug abuse issues. It was my first job right out of high school and it was quite an eye-opener. I learned to not judge people on how they look because you don’t know what they are going through. Treat people the way you want to be treated.

I love spending time with my grandchildren and great grandchildren. They are the joy of my life.
