Years in practice: 15

Best known for: My empathic, client-centered approach and active involvement in local bars and attorney groups. I regularly engage in pro bono work helping domestic violence victims obtain protective orders.

Why I chose my practice area: After starting in defense work, I discovered my passion for advocating for the underdog on the plaintiff’s side, helping clients through catastrophic events.

Most memorable case: My first post-pandemic jury trial in Frederick County, where I won nearly 4 times the insurance company’s last offer. My client gifted me rubber ducks after opposing counsel’s closing argument backfired.

What makes me a leader in my field: Tenacity and storytelling ability, drawn from my background as a journalist and news broadcaster.

Bar involvement/leadership roles: VTLA District 13 governor; George Mason Inn of Courts membership chair; Fairfax Law Foundation secretary; American Academy of Trucking Attorneys Women’s Caucus member
