The first American lawyer to obtain an LLM in Fashion Law at Luiss Carli University in Rome, Joan B. Davis has become an indispensable expert in her field, representing national names in the industry and regularly advising on trademark issues, copyright matters and counterfeiting.
Davis is a frequent lecturer on the international stage and has clients ranging from jewelry designers to wellness brands. She has also helped both fashion models and agencies by drafting and reviewing contracts and even appeared on television with Katie Couric regarding the difficulties encountered by child models.
Active in her community, Davis created of Coffee with an Art Lawyer and has been involved with both the Fashion Law Institute Pop Up Pro Bono Clinic in New York and the Virginia Fashion Week Pop Up Law Clinics. Davis has also advised the International Centre for Intellectual Property Laws in India.
