Lindsey A. Carney has extensive experience as a commercial and residential real estate attorney and business attorney. Honored as Distinguished Alumna of the Year by Christopher Newport University in 2018, she was also named as an “Influential Woman of Virginia” by Lawyers Weely in 2015 and received the Gambrell Professionalism Award from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law.
But the biggest accolades for Carney come from clients and colleagues who know her practice as one of the most respected in the Hampton Roads region. Representing lenders, developers, borrowers, investors, tenants and owners, Carney has handled everything from rezonings and special use permits to leasing transactions and mortgage financing.
As a general business counsel, she has advised on entity selection, formation, member and shareholder agreements and contracts. She also deals in commercial leasing and construction loans, and has helped numerous nonprofits obtain tax-exempt status from the IRS.
