VSB Disciplinary Actions: Feb. 7 issue

Effective Jan. 25, 2022, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board revoked the law license of Judy Raye Moats of Fairfax based on her affidavit consenting to the revocation. By tendering her consent to revocation at a time when a disciplinary complaint, investigation or proceeding is pending, Moats acknowledges that the material facts upon which the disciplinary complaint, investigation or proceeding are predicated are true.

Effective Jan. 25, 2022, the Fauquier County Circuit Court suspended the law license of John Carter Morgan Jr. of Warrenton for a period of one year. This was an agreed disposition of reciprocal discipline imposed by the United States District Bankruptcy Court of the Western District of Virginia.

Effective Jan. 27, 2022, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board revoked the law license of Christopher Matthew Reyes of Washington, D.C., based on his affidavit consenting to the revocation. By rendering his consent to revocation at a time when a disciplinary complaint, investigation or proceeding is pending, Reyes acknowledges that the material facts upon which the disciplinary complaint, investigation or proceeding are predicated are true.

Ordered and effective Jan. 28, 2022, pursuant to Virginia Rule of Professional Conduct 8.5 (b)(1), the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board revoked the law license of Edward Allen Malone of San Augustine, Texas. Malone stipulated to the violation of Texas rules that govern candor toward the tribunal and misconduct.

Effective Jan. 31, 2022, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board revoked the law license of Michael Steven Arif of Fairfax based on his affidavit consenting to the revocation. By tendering his consent to revocation at a time when a disciplinary complaint, investigation or proceeding is pending, Arif acknowledges that the material facts upon which the disciplinary complaint, investigation or proceeding are predicated are true.
