Joel Nied’s Fairfax-based practice handles intellectual property, corporate and securities, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and more.
A winner of the High Tech Leadership Award from Technology Hampton Roads, the Emory University alumnus deals regularly with a full range of legal matters involving joint ventures, fund formation, licensing agreements and engineering services contracts. He has also represented both lenders and borrows in all aspects of HUD-insured loans, including acquisition, construction, refinancings and the TPA process.
Nied was a founder of the Entrepreneurs Forum of Hampton Roads where he remains on the board of directors. He also sat on the Modeling and Simulation and Hard Sciences advisory committees to the Virginia General Assembly. Among his numerous community endeavors, Nied was a mentor for Start Norfolk in 2011 and 2012, and still sits on the Hospice and Palliative Care of Tidewater Board of Directors.
