The investiture of Justice Thomas P. Mann as a justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia will be held on Nov. 1 at 3 p.m.
The ceremony will be held in the courtroom of the Supreme Court Building in Richmond and livestreamed to the public on the court’s website, www.vacourts.gov. The livestream will begin at 2:30 p.m., according to a release from the Virginia State Bar.
Mann, who began serving as a justice on the Supreme Court of Virginia on Aug. 1, previously served as a judge on the Fairfax County Circuit Court since 2016. Prior to becoming a circuit court judge, Mann served as a juvenile and domestic relations court judge for a decade. He is a graduate of the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C.
Mann’s election to the court by the General Assembly this year filled the vacancy left by the retirement of Justice William C. Mims.
In September, the court held another investiture ceremony for Justice Wesley G. Russell Jr. Russell began serving on the state’s high court July 1, replacing former Chief Justice Donald W. Lemons. Lemons elected to take senior status at the beginning of the year.
