Case description: The plaintiff, age 81, was walking in a parking lot when she was hit by a car at a low rate of speed. She was knocked to the ground and taken by ambulance to the hospital. She was hospitalized with multiple injuries, including cuts, bruises, intracranial hemorrhage, scalp laceration, and a fracture on the S5 sacral segment. She stayed in the hospital for nine days and was released to a rehabilitation facility for a 10-day stay. She then returned home and had outpatient therapy for a few months.
