Case description: The plaintiff claimed the defendant cardiologist failed to prevent
hypovolemic strokes. According to the plaintiff, the cardiologist should have diagnosed and treated (by engaging interventional radiology consultants) abdominal bleeding following a brief telephone conversation from the attending emergency department provider.
After a seven-day trial, the jury deliberated for about 1.5 hours before returning a defense verdict.
